Croc O' Dile Isle
Set in 100 acres of, pristine, jungle; CROC O’ DILE ISLE is located outside of the Village of Silkegrass, approximately a 30 minute drive from Hopkins Village. CROC O’ DILE ISLE was designed as a refuge for the American Salt Water Crocodile. The American Saltie has a survival rate of less than 2%. This fine animal is in danger of extinction in Central America; however is flourishing in the USA thanks to a protected area in Florida. We are proud to be a part of the Saltie’s survival.
The site, for CROC O’ DILE ISLE was selected because of its remote tranquility and lack of human habitat. The native wildlife and birds have not been disturbed. We have over sixty species of birds at the reserve and, in fact, have been highly recommended in a new publication of “Birds of Belize”. If you are young (or not so young) we have a tour designed just for you and your family!!
With so many different types of tours, CROC O’ DILE ISLE is a ‘MUST GO TO PLACE’!! Our most popular tour is the Jungle Walk to the lagoon returning by canoe. Real excitement begins on our Night Crocodile Spotting!! This tour is for a maximum of 6 people on our 26’ boat. Darkness and silence is the ‘key’ to this adrenaline filled tour!!
